Michael-Nemytov-MD.jpgDr. Michael Nemytov, MD is a board-certified neurologist with advanced subspecialty training in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy. He earned his medical degree in 1997 and has since developed a wide-ranging clinical background, culminating in a focused expertise in neurologic diagnostics and seizure management.

Dr. Nemytov completed his neurology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by fellowships in epilepsy (University at Buffalo) and clinical neurophysiology (Stony Brook University). He has served in multiple roles across both inpatient and outpatient settings — including consult services, EEG interpretation, and resident education — with an emphasis on optimizing care for complex neurological conditions.

Currently practicing at New York Brain, Spine & Joint, Dr. Nemytov integrates precision diagnostics with personalized care strategies, drawing on years of experience interpreting EEG and EMG/NCS studies and managing both acute and chronic neurologic disorders.

His commitment to quality improvement is reflected in several institution-based initiatives aimed at enhancing seizure treatment protocols and improving neurodiagnostic workflows. Fluent in English and Russian, he offers a thoughtful and meticulous approach to neurology with an emphasis on accuracy, clarity, and compassionate care.
