Marc Lamantia MS, DC, DACNB COF specializes in the evaluation and treatment of complex neurological, spinal, and musculoskeletal conditions. He is the founder of the Scoli-Fit® Method, established in 2004, a pioneering approach that treats scoliosis progression as a movement and metabolic disorder rather than a purely structural deformity—a perspective that sets his work apart in the field.
Through the Scoli-Fit Method, Dr. Lamantia has focused on reducing scoliosis progression by addressing abnormal movement patterns, neuromuscular control, and inflammation-related mechanisms that contribute to pain and functional decline. His work emphasizes early intervention, functional biomechanics, and individualized treatment strategies rather than passive observation alone.
Dr. Lamantia is a Board of Certification (BOC)–Certified Orthotic Fitter, allowing him to integrate advanced orthotic and bracing strategies into comprehensive care plans while maintaining a strong focus on patient mobility and long-term function.
A defining aspect of Dr. Lamantia’s clinical and research interests is his commitment to understanding the role of the brain in scoliosis progression and chronic pain. In August 2025, he completed a visiting fellowship at Duke University focused on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), expanding his expertise in neuromodulation and its application to motor control, pain, and neuroplasticity.
Dr. Lamantia also has extensive training in EMG and nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCV), as well as vestibular and oculomotor testing, allowing for sophisticated assessment of neuromuscular, balance, and sensorimotor dysfunction. His multidisciplinary skill set supports precise diagnosis and targeted treatment in patients with complex, overlapping neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
At New York Brain Spine and Joint, PC, Dr. Lamantia collaborates closely with neurosurgeons, Nurses, orthopedic specialists, and rehabilitation providers to deliver integrative, evidence-based care with the goal of improving function, reducing progression, and enhancing quality of life.
